We've stayed in a Philly Airbnb one time and a hotel here approximately zero times. So these recommendations come based entirely on Google searches. You maybe be able to find other options that are better suited to you. We decided to do the event in a city as opposed to a campground literally because there are a whole lot of options for you to choose from!

For hotels we recommend Center City or Old City. For some the Gayborhood might be fun. We do not currently have any hotel blocks set up. If you are interested in the Kimpton Hotel let us know, as that's where we have the largest number of family members staying.
Remember this is LABOR DAY WEEKEND, so things may book up sooner than usual.
Hotels

A four star, luxury boutique Kimpton Hotel located in Center City Philadelphia within blocks of the Liberty Bell, Independence Mall, Old City and Society Hill attractions.

This hip hotel in a landmark 1925 building is next is near City Hall. It's a 4-minute walk from the nearest subway station and 6 minutes on foot from the storied Reading Terminal Market.
In a redbrick home set in a neighborhood known for its gay nightlife, this relaxed adults-only guesthouse is a minute's walk from a subway station, a mile from the Liberty Bell.
It's also right next door to a TOC (Tavern on Camac), a cute gay piano bar and many places to get your gay dancing on (see Gay Stuff).

Very cute boutique style hotel, with apartment style rentals ranging from studios to 2 bedrooms, contactless checkin. The Fishtown one is close to the venue, although apparently near a freeway that guests say they cannot hear. The Old City one is in the heart of Old City. The decor on both is really beautiful.

Area Suggestions: Old City, South Philly, Fishtown, Rittenhouse Square, Passyunk, Fitler Square, and Logan Square. Staying near South Street could be fun since there are a lot of places to walk and explore. Center City could be fine but it could also be a bit busier.

Avoid: Kensington, Grays Ferry, and Forgotten Bottom. We are in West Philly which is pretty, but farther away from the venues.

PHL - Philadelphia International Airport is the closest airport.

We recommend not renting a car. Philly drivers are wild and our main venue doesn't even have parking lot on-site. Public transport is pretty easy for those interested in that. Otherwise we suggest guests rely on taxis and rideshares. Our two venues are on the opposite sides of Philly, so guests may want to connect and share cars on Saturday. All said, if you want to rent a car, go for it!

If you do decide to rent a car or if you're planning to drive to PHL, please take careful note of street signs. The Philadelphia Parking Authority is not messing around. You can download the ParkMobile App to pay for parking via credit card. Be sure to check cost of parking a car at a hotel/nearby lot. If renting a house, check parking restrictions in the area, there are also pay lots all over Philadelphia.
